Brenda L. Badger Cusack
Born the youngest of six in Jacksonville, Florida to the late Reverend Dr. Solomon L. Badger, Jr. & Susan Moffitt Badger, Brenda graduated from Eugene J. Butler High School, class of 1969. She furthered her education at Bethune-Cookman College and completed studies in 1973. She later attended Nova University and received her Masters in Education, as well as further studies at Stetson University and the University of Central Florida.
She faithfully serves Greater Union First Baptist Church, DeLand in many capacities. She is also president of the Women's Convention for Mount Zion Northeast Coast District Association of Florida, Inc., Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc (Charter Member, DeLand Alumnae Chapter), a life member of the West Volusia Branch NAACP, Board of Habitat for Humanity and City of DeLand Chamber of Commerce.
A retired educator, she served from classroom, athletics and on to administration in several schools in Volusia and Duval Counties. She is often reminded by her students of her discipline and order.
Married to the funeral home's owner and mother of its manager keeps her busy along with being the busiest retiree in history. She is a PROUD grandmother to her grandchildren and a lover of all children.
